Welcome Back!

Blogging is tough. Like, really tough.

Over the past month I’ve read so much about how to build a blog; grow a blog; come up with post ideas, that I thought I was going to go crazy. I mean, I have pinned and printed and read and read and read until I could fit nothing else in my brain. I signed up for a handful of newsletters – which is ridiculous since I rarely read my regular emails – and downloaded all the freebies – I’ll be sharing my faves in a later post – but there was only so much information I could absorb.

Eventually I just had to go for it.

So, here we are, again, but with a plan and a lot more knowledge.

Now, I’m sure you’re asking yourself: “Why are we here (again)?” To be frank, shutting down my blog meant removing my portfolio from the Internet. Without a portfolio, my love for photography would be at a stand-still. Sure, I could continue taking photos but a memory card is not a home.

Much of what I do takes place on the internet. I mean, I spend a lot of time on the Internet, so why not create a space to share what I love? Blogging also serves as an example of content I’ve created, aka resume gold.

I’m going to be honest, even though I’ve read a lot on the subject of blogging, I’m still not sure about my blog’s direction. And I’m okay with that, really, and I hope you are too.

Trust me when I say we aren’t going to go about this aimless. Oh no. While there may not be a clear direction, there are definitely going to be a few concrete talking points:

  • This blog will be a home, once again, for my photography
  • I’ve read a bunch on blogging, so why not share what I’ve learned?
  • Travel has always been an important part of my life so I’m definitely going to keep sharing my adventures
  • I’m a dog person so you’ll see plenty of Thor‘s handsome face (he even gets his own category!)
  • And everything else

We’ll get re-introduced in the next post, but for now take a look around and get re-acquainted with this little home.
