I’m not one for self-discovery exercises but I stumbled upon Susannah Conway’s beautiful blog and decided to give her Unravelling the Year Ahead: 2016 workbook. I was drawn by the idea of choosing a word to help guide me through the year ahead.
While I was excited about choosing a word, I was also nervous that I wouldn’t choose the right one. Of course there isn’t a right or wrong word, it just has to resonate with what you want to accomplish.
I chose brave as my word because I know I will have to make a lot of difficult decisions throughout the year. I needed a word that would encourage me to not shy away from my future and to live without fear of failure.
I’ve started a (mental) list of goals I want to accomplish throughout the year. I should probably start writing them down.. I want to fill the year with travel and creative projects and growth.
This year I want to focus on living in the moment and then documenting it so that I don’t let any of it slip away.
I want this year to be full of new challenges and the accomplishments of overcoming them.
I will fill the year with positivity and possibilities.
So here’s to 2016! I am so excited to see what it has in store and I cannot wait to share all the changes and stories that will unfold. 2016 is going to be a wild ride, but I am so ready for it.
What are your goals for 2016?
